Founded in 2002 by English DJ and Producer Miles Cleret, Soundway Records has released a number of critically acclaimed compilation albums and re-issues of African, Caribbean, Latin and Asian music from the 1950s-80s. Together with avant-garde records from Julien Dyne, Pigeon or Felbm, the British imprint has been reminding and introducing us to historic works from artists like Steve Monite, Kiki Gyan and many more. Dropping tomorrow, Charles Amoah’s Sweet Vibration is another Ghanaian legendary work from one of the most well-known disco and burger highlife artists of his time.

Charles Amoah originally began his career as a drummer. Playing with Alex Konadu's band, as well as the Precious Jewels and Nana Tuffour, he then moved to Germany in the early 80s. His first album Sweet Vibration spawned several hits which went on to be released as separate singles, namely "Scratch My Back" and "Shake Your Body To The Beat". From the irresistible funk hooks of these singles, to the pop instrumentation of "Life's Like Being In A Boxing Ring", or the kraut-rock stylings of "Jungle Rock" - there is little doubt that the blend of disco, funk and highlife that was unique to the Ghanaian-German scene can be experienced in its full splendour in this historic piece. Remastered and reissued for the first time on vinyl, Sweet Vibration is a must for the funky aficionados. Courtesy of Soundway Records.
