See this content in the original post

Known for his prowess as a hip-hop and sample wizard, Krewcial showcases his diverse musical palette by collaborating with a full live band of talented musicians and singers hailing from Kenya, Nigeria, and Argentina. The Motherland EP, released last friday by Heist Recordings, is a captivating EP and a tribute to the infectious rhythms and grooves that African continent has to offer. With its fusion of electronic elements and authentic African funk, this EP is a celebration of rhythm, groove, and the universal language of music.

Each one of the four tracks in the record takes us on a unique sonic adventure. "Owo" combines moody and contemplative vocals with an irresistibly funky afrobeat groove, delving into the concept of true wealth. "Wahala Dey" brings together various West African influences, resulting in a loose-limbed groove driven by a bassline that oozes funk. "Kitoko" and "Ghana Groove" showcase Krewcial's songwriting talent, with rich percussive improvisations, infectious guitar licks, and soulful horns. The Motherland EP is a testament to Krewcial's artistic versatility and his deep appreciation for the diverse musical traditions of Africa. Available on Bandcamp, courtesy of Heist Recordings.
