lord & dego: lord & dego

See this content in the original post

Following some high-regarded EP’s, released in the last three to four years, the enigmatic nu-jazz duo Lord & dego presents their first LP. This self-titled project cements their impressive musical connection, showcasing a complete work of 12 tracks. Sharing responsibilities on the creative process, Lord was the man behind the drums and guitars, while dego took care of the bass, the piano and the rhodes. The remaining array of instruments were equally divided and the album comes out as one of the smoothest pieces you’ll hear all summer.

As per usual in their productions, Lord and dego are able to create dance music that flows easily in the complexity of its combination with organic elements. This is particularly present in the groovy basslines, the melodic guitars and in the flow of keys. Sitting comfortably at the crossroad of electronic and jazz music, with trademark broken beat and afro-infused progressions. Released by the almighty 2000BLACK, Lord & dego is a black music album, sounding optimistic in the midst of a battle, stating a rejection of all musical conformity. Once again, Matt Lord and dego lead us ‘away from avarice and onwards to joy’. Available in vinyl.
