Beringei drops his second EP tomorrow via WotNot Records. Without You follows the 2019 infectious debut The People, The Place, showcasing deeper vibes and revolving around the theme of adapting to change. Based in Beringei’s own struggles, it’s possible to listen to the continuation of his signature sound in a three-track record that is conquering us - wistfully transporting us back to ‘the place’.
Without You brings soulful melodies, low-slung house, broken beat grooves and r&b-flavoured bass line, featuring collaborations from WotNot label-mate William Florelle and Andrés Alcover. “Peace Of Mind” opens up the EP, with Andrés Alcover’s vocals gliding effortlessly over licks of Rhodes, shuffling drums and a delicious rolling bass line. Title track “Without You” picks up the pace, with broken beat vibes at its finest. This is the EP’s body mover, featuring frequent collaborator William Florelle on vocal duties. “Hearts (Our Love)” is a melodic ending, delivering a delicate and nostalgic yet bouncy 4x4 chugger reminiscent of the beats from the beginning of the 2010’s decade.
