dego: power
Francisco Espregueira
Dennis McFarlane, known across electronic music as dego, remains an essential force in UK club history. As a co-founder of 4Hero and leader of the 2000Black collective, his work shaped West London's broken beat landscape. Four years after his LP Love Was Not Your Goal, he returns to his own imprint with a three-track EP titled Power. Written and produced alongside frequent creative partner Mr Mensah, the project delivers the unmistakable identity of the label. Shantéh Fuller takes the lead vocals on the title track, bringing a soulful vocal presence to its dancefloor-ready groove. “4 Seasons In A Day” shifts towards mid-tempo house and boogie, while “Embassy Eve” completes the set. Three carefully shaped tracks, rooted in the musical approach that has kept 2000Black moving for decades. Available on vinyl, for the collectors.
