Energy Exchange Ensemble prefers to start new projects with a room full of talented musicians and see where the moment leads. That's the spirit behind Energy Exchange Records Various Artists’ project. Following the first installment released in 2023, Vol II is the latest chapter in the label's ongoing collaborative project. Guided by producers Lewis Moody and Ziggy Zeitgeist, the sessions were recorded across Berlin, London and Melbourne, bringing together an impressive cast of contemporary jazz and soul artists. The result captures the excitement of live interaction never sacrificing the groove.
Energy Exchange Records Vol. II. unfolds as a cohesive musical conversation. Contributions from Erica Tucceri, Oscar Jerome, King Owusu, Hurcules and Nathan Haines blend naturally into a sound that moves between spiritual jazz, broken beat and dancefloor-ready rhythms. Every track leaves space for improvisation but staying focused and inviting.
