Following collaborative releases with Fredfades and Mndsgn and countless premium collaborations, Ivan Ave released the critically-acclaimed Every Eye LP in 2017, impressing by its soulful boogie/funky production, further establishing him as one of the most innovative MC’s in Europe - also due to the incredible talent he is surrounded by. More than two years later, coming out today via Mutual Intentions Double Goodbyes is the Norwegian’s new project, stamped with his jazzy and soulful trademark sound.
Less electronic sounding than his previous solo efforts Double Goodbyes is heavily infused by the mid-eighties jazz-funk, AOR & yacht rock sounds, also marking Ave’s departure from his rap roots, giving space to more r&b’ish melodies and to his broad musical universe. Counting with invaluable collaborations from the likes of Sasac, Joyce Wrice, Kiefer, Mndsgn, Clever Austin or Byron The Aquarius, the textures on Ave’s new project are golden.
