jazzbois: higher dimension waiting room

Francisco Espregueira

Building upon what we consider a stellar discography, the Jazzbois trio keeps delivering some of the most exciting contemporary jazz music in European soil. Hailing from Budapest, their debut album Jazzbois Goes Blunt (2019) had a strong impact on both the jazz and hip hop scene, creating a unique psychedelic-flavored fusion that shook the bones of jazz masters and beat lovers alike. The sequel to that, Jazzbois Goes Blunt II (2022), and previous records such as the self-titled jazzbois (2020) or Mind Connect (2021), in partnership with INQ., saw the development of the band and their recognition by many key figures in the industry.

Their fresh and highly anticipated new record, Higher Dimension Waiting Room, is again released by Blunt Shelter Records and comprises 10 tracks that are careful produced while maintaining a strong improv type of quality to it - something that is inherent to the trio’s work. Blending textures from contemporary jazz music and instrumental hip hop, Jazzbois build a mysterious and progressive backdrop that invites the awareness of its listeners. Every corner in the trip of Higher Dimension Waiting Room conveys spot on arrangements, groove and unpredictability with every instrument sounding clear. Over these ten tracks, we hope you feel a similar experience - one that let’s the imagination flow while feeling grounded at the same time. Available on vinyl, this is another great work from the Magyar magicians.
