joint4nine: I'm gonna be alright ep

Francisco Espregueira

Joint4Nine just dropped his new project, I’m Gonna Be Alright EP taking us deep into his world with four unique tracks that showcase a signature blend of electronic genres, deeply inspired by the textures of US movements of the 80’s and 90’s. Curated by the Colombian imprint Ritmo Terco, this record follows a series of cool music that Ivan Lozano has been releasing on labels such as Ondule Recordings, Morris Audio, Fate And Fiction Recordings, Masterworks Deep Cutz, Apparel Music, GLBDM, Blur Records and among others in the last 5 years.

The EP opens with the title track, "Be Alright," a classic deep house cut with a mesmerizing vocal sample that carries a hopeful melancholic vibe. From there, the energy shifts with "Where Were You When You Heard Acid?," a pulsating acid house track guaranteed to get you moving with its driving bassline, deep bleep melody, and spacey vocals. Next, "Have A Dream (Party People In da House Mix)" throws it back to the late 80s, paying homage to classic house music with a modern twist. Here, Joint4Nine blends old-school rave elements like the 808 drum machine with his own funky style. The EP closes with "Slappin Basslines," a Detroit house track brimming with soulful samples, live percussion, and infectious acid motifs. I'm Gonna Be Alright EP is a well-rounded exploration of house music's past, present, and future, all guided by Joint4Nine's touch. Available on Bandcamp, courtesy of Ritmo Terco.
