UK-born, Fremantle-based producer Jon E is stepping back into the spotlight. Following the success of Smoke (2015) he returns to Natural Element to present the first part of the Messages From Easy Street project. The producer continues to refine a warm, groove-led sound shaped by broken beat, deep house, jazz and soulful sampling. Field recordings and subtle city ambience give these four tracks an organic quality, making the music feel lived-in rather than polished to perfection.
Each cut reveals a different side of Jon E's growing musical language. "One More Time" glides with effortless swing, while "We Can Make It" pairs uplifting chords with Roxanne's graceful vocals. The second half heads into moodier territory, with the Moodymann-inspired shuffle of "Raise Them Up" and the hazy, percussion-rich closer "Day n Night". Throughout Messages From Easy Street, Part I, the focus stays on groove, atmosphere and understated emotion, confirming that Jon E is developing into one of Australia's most distinctive underground house producers.
