Juli Giuliani, Mabreeze and Karmasound present GINGA, embracing classic rap in a sophisticated way, seasoning it with clear influences that come from encyclopedias of soul music, 90’s golden hip hop and classy deep house gems - escaping from clichés or trends. The result is a mixture of these various musical influences - Juli Giuliani’s with sharp wordplay, Mabreezee with soulful melodies and Karmasound with the high-karat-gold production.
Focusing on the use of real instrumentation and featuring a number of talented musicians, GINGA is anchored in reminiscences of Dilla, Soulquarians, James Brown or Roy Hargrove. The positivity of the album is contagious and relatable, creating a space of peace and enjoyment in the turmoil of urban life.
