GLBDOM keeps firing tasty releases. Their fifteenth introduces to Selva, a DJ and producer hailing from Mérida, México, presenting a smooth brand of sample based house sounds for both bedroom and club listening. Duffel Bags EP drops tomorrow, containing six tracks that blends good choices of jazz and hip hop samples with bumping, fuzzy beats. Wonky house textures at its best.
Selva dives deep into the old school hip hop subculture and sampling techniques to bring jazz and soul textures to his cuts. He then proceeds to kit them with groovy urban noises covered in dazed out synths. Some tracks are aggressively energetic like the opener "Duffel Bags" and the East coast styled "NY1994", while others like "Electric Sheep" and "Sampled Dream" offer mellower grooves for easy listening. Duffel Bags EP is another great EP hailing from the promising GLBDOM.
