Today we disembark in the coasts of the Mediterranean with the mesmerizing album Sidi Bou Said released by the Milan-based imprint Flankup Recordings. Composed by Paolo Russi, one-half of the brilliant minds behind Flankup (also known as Discojuice), and Marco Lanfranchi (aka Indy), this album is a captivating exploration of Arabic-influenced disco, Afro-house, and Balearic rhythms. The Milanese duo initially collaborated on a documentary film that delved into the story of two brotherly cultures, the Sicilians and Tunisians from the northern coast. The energy generated during this collaboration inspired them to turn it into a full-fledged record.

Sidi Bou Said is a five-track masterpiece that immerses the listener in the vibrant ambiance of Sicilian road markets with "Babbaluci" and then transports them to the distinctive scents and sounds of the streets of the white and turquoise neighborhood of Sidi Bou Said, located north of Tunis. The EP continues its auditive pilgrimage to the coastal town of "Hel Haouaria," capturing the essence of wind and shining waters. The collaboration with Byron The Aquarius adds a unique touch with a "Late Night Dub" interpretation. The EP closes with a reprise of the "Sidi Bou Said Theme." The result is a sonic experience that encapsulates the warmth, intensity, and vivid emotions of a distant-near dimension, creating a musical tapestry to be relived and enjoyed at any moment. Available on vinyl.

Once upon a time, along the coasts of this sea, passed the silk road, the route of salt and spices, oils and perfumes, amber and ornaments, tools and weapons, of wisdom and knowledge, art and science. Here different people and races have continued to interweave, unite and dispute for centuries as perhaps in no other religion on this planet
