sometimes jah: sometimes
Francisco Espregueira
The Lisbon-based producer Sometimes Jah kicks off 2026 with a confident stride on his new self-released digital album, Sometimes. Following a string of well-received EPs, even releasing the amazing Le Grenier (2024) on our own O Sótão Records, this full-length project feels like a homecoming in more ways than one. It captures the producer fully in his element, distilling the sun-drenched vibes into a smooth blend of deep house and jazz-inflected rhythms. The record serves as a sonic scrapbook of moments between Sydney, Madrid, and Lisbon, yet it remains distinctly rooted in the intimate, DIY ethos that has defined his output thus far.
What makes Sometimes resonate is its sense of balance. The songs carry a soft emotional weight without tipping into heaviness, blending warmth and introspection with an easy flow. It’s a record that doesn't demand your attention so much as it earns it, settling into the room like a comfortable evening breeze. As a self-released project, it reflects a kind of creative autonomy that suits the music perfectly — personal, unforced, and quietly confident in its own rhythm. Available on Bandcamp.
