Ole-Birger Neergård é Ol' Burger Beats. A descrição acima, simples e seca, não revela o talento do tipo. Mais um membro da colectividade Norueguesa, Mutual Intentions, que parece ter descoberto a pólvora. Nesta juntam-se nomes e gentes de classe como Ivan Ave, Fredfades, Yogisoul, entre outros. Fui sempre falando destes tipos ao longo dos dois anos de blog, e então nunca deixaria fugir este "Mind Games", que sairá para o infinito nas próximas semanas.
Ivan Ave na introdução que faz ao álbum diz coisas que me enchem. Fala deste trabalho desconcertante de um produtor que escuta os detalhes nas músicas, que se cultiva com coisas feitas muito antes de ter nascido, que busca nas prateleiras, que muda o vinil para o lado b... As perguntas sobre será que este beat encaixa nesta piano? Será que eu consigo juntar estes dois sons? Diz Ave, que o processo criativo certamente nos deixará de pé até tarde "considering… contemplating… calculating…". Lembrei-me da primeira música de "Pratica(mente)" de Sam The Kid...

E é assim. De um momento para o outro o casamento perfeito dos elementos. Esse produtor hoje é Ol' Burger Beats - criando com mestria a base onde nomes novos e conhecidos vão passar as suas palavras.

A produção de Ol' Burger Beats encaixa na perfeição aqui. Oliver The 2nd abre a faixa falando profundamente... mas quando entra Ivan Ave já sei que ele vai falar a minha língua. Enquanto escuto-o atentamente, percebo que diria as mesmas coisas caso tivesse aquele piano a tocar por trás.

hmm.”
O mais recente show da COLORS BERLIN deu a conhecer o londrino Benny Mails. Na pessoalíssima "My Mantra", vejo-o a abrir-se. Não me deixo enganar pelo seu aspeto, tão distinto daquilo que normalmente trazem as ondas de hip hop. O flow está lá. E de dentro para fora, this is the sound of a heartbroken rapper...
