Theo Parrish is in a class of one. His latest album, that came out via his own Sound Signature label and is entitled Wuddaji, is impossible to categorize much like Parrish’ entire discography. Drawing unique sounds displayed in many unique ways, this 8-track galaxy of music is another spellbinding affair that takes scuffed up house rhythms and intertwines them with freeform percussive patterns and off-grid synths that get pulled apart then rebuilt before your very ears. Wuddaji comes with a live energy, in which minimal elements are constantly appearing and talking with one another in an organic way. Parrish’ notion of music, alongside his deep knowledge, showcased around the world in revered DJ sets, allow him to improvise and introduce a palette of sonic colors that we are still trying to fit inside ourselves. Every track is trip through unknown jungles of music.
