Bob The Egoist (real name Daniel Pardo), is a multifaceted musician, DJ, composer, and producer born in Bogotá, Colombia, and now based in Barcelona. Last friday he unleashed his debut solo EP, I'm Still The Same Person. This three-track offering, released through Felipe Gordon's esteemed Wide Awake label, is a vibrant showcase of Bob's musical prowess.
Kicking things off, "Fever," featuring Berklee colleague and friend Bedo, grabs us with its rich, chord-driven grooves and captivatingly simple-smooth vocal delivery. The auditory adventure continues with "New Beginnings," a deeply emotive piece that perfectly encapsulates Bob The Egoist's thoughtful approach to house music. Here, the lyrics intertwine seamlessly with robust grooves. Bringing the EP to a close, and only available on the vinyl edition, is "Ride Club," a jazzy dancefloor anthem that's ight appeal immediately to the deep jazz heads. Its prominent use of cymbals and expressive scat vocals create an irresistible energy. I’m Still The Same Person is available on vinyl and digital.
