dreamcastmoe: the lost tape vol. 3

Francisco Espregueira

Tie for a cosmic collaboration between two of the most important imprints in the independent music scene. Dropping tomorrow, dreacatmoe’s The Lost Tape Vol. 3 brings together Rhythm Section with Ghostly International. While this marks their inaugural vinyl partnership, the deep connection between the Peckham-based label and the artist, born Davon Bryant-Mason, stretches back to his debut London shows, cementing a vibrant DC-London nexus that this record joyfully celebrates. Rhythm Section INTL founder Bradley Zero's initial discovery of dreamcastmoe's distinctive sound came through the godfathers of the DC scene, Beautiful Swimmers, who championed the artist during their early visits to Peckham's now-legendary pool hall. This early buzz led to impactful releases like Liquid Deep (PPU, 2017) and Outer Space / Up 2 U (Future Times, 2018), swiftly positioning dreamcastmoe as an artist to watch for tastemakers worldwide.

Davon Bryant-Mason's ascent has been a truly organic one, built on genuine connection and camaraderie, mirroring his irresistible personality and ability to quietly command attention, whether on stage - through a unique voice and groove that he masters - or in person. His sound is a refreshing, genre-blending alchemy, deeply indebted to hip hop, house, hazy electronics, and the infectious rhythms of DC's very own 'go-go' sound. While dreamcastmoe has found a home on the iconic midwestern label Ghostly International, this joint release for The Lost Tape Vol. 3 is a testament to the long-standing friendship and mutual appreciation between the artist and labels. Following Vol. 1 (2017) & Vol. 2 (2019), the amazing, forward-thinking The Lost Tape series’ Vol. 3 drops tomorrow. Available on vinyl and casette, for the collectors out there.
