We came across Reginald Chapman back in 2018, when the Virginia based Bass trombonist released his debut project via Fresh Selects - grabbing clear influences from classic jazz musicians, while sounding modern and utterly creative. Again via Fresh Selects he now presents a new EP that comprises live in-studio performances from the innovative low brassist/composer and his Brooklyn-based band, Pressure Fit.
East Williamsburg Sessions features new takes on selections from Reginald’s Prototype album, and full band arrangements of remixes by Stro Elliot, Pas Doo, and Omari Jazz, along with new material and more. The mesmerizing reinterpretations serve as a prelude for his official sophomore solo album that will come out in early 2023 on Fresh Selects. Available digitally, East Williamsburg Sessions tunes us in for what’s to come from this talented jazz composer.
