Hailing from the bubbling Australian underground music scene, Ziggy Zeitgeist’s move to Berlin further expanded his already impressive output. Following the self-titled debut through Wax Museum Records, ZFEX Vol. II via The Jazz Diaries, and several EP’s since 2018 (most notably Kreuzberg Kix and Body Mind Spirit, with Àbáse), Ziggy joins the Get Together family for Prayer For Peace - an 8-track journey through atmospheric scenes, broken to deep four on floor rhythms and colourful top lines. The future-to-be-legendary drummer presents his own Berlin influences and curates an encounter of his moniker band Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange. Together they deliver a record that is equally well suited to dance floor applications as it is to an intimate night with the turntable spinning and the sensual herbs burning.
Ziggy arrived in Berlin in the summer of 2019, wasting no time in assembling a talented and diverse group of assorted freaks from many corners of the world to bring their own languages, melodies, rhythms and swagger on this cross continental meeting point. Prayer For Peace captures the raw energetic fusion of such diverse and innovative musicians scene co-existing in the Techno capital of the world. The sound is unique, blending a very particular brand of jazz-funk sounds with spiritual takes, brazilian rhythms, psychedelic dub-grooves and deep house rollers. And everything is recorded live with the highest karat engineering of sound behind it, and with the Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange performing at the top of their capacities.
