Editado pela Stones Throw Records - a editora perfeita para este projecto - "Yes Lawd!" é uma peça que mistura na perfeição as raízes da música afro-americana. Há muita soul, muito funk, muito jazz, muito hip hop, muita atitude! Aliás a viagem pelo álbum é isso mesmo. Há momentos que fazem lembrar os anos 60'/70' da música negra, outros com samples bem funky e batidas na onda R&B/Hip Hop... Isso tudo conduzido por Knxwledge. É ele que guia este Chevrolet descapotável.
No lugar de passageiro, Anderson Paak. Qual super-herói! Na sua atitude pavoneadora, sem papas na língua... uma espécie de James Brown dos dias de hoje. Nastier, meaner e sexier. Dirige-se ao mulherio: magoando-as ou sendo magoado por elas. Encantado, ajustado, enojado, desapontado, apaixonado por elas. Chamando-lhes de amores e de putas. Prometendo não trair e traindo. Capaz de as endeusar para depois as reduzir a pó na faixa seguinte. Paak é Paak e quando ele te chama bitch é porque és a bitch dele...
Espero ansiosamente pelo momento em que tenha este vinil nas mãos. Não haverá melhor coisa durante uns tempos do que chegar ao Sótão de noite, segurá-los nas mãos, e pô-lo a tocar... sentar-me e deixá-lo. Amei isto à primeira vista, assim como amei a "Suede" cinco segundo após o play. Para a coleção especial do Sótão: "YES LAWD!"
Algo diferente. Casssandre é uma cantora belga que enche as quatro paredes do Sótão. Rodeada de uma talentosa banda, controla os momentos. Mesmo sem ter aquela voz poderosíssima, canta e encanta. Sempre em Françês. Deparei-me com "Sifflant Soufflant" através de um remix da autoria de ShunGu, que já foi passando por aqui, e só tive que investigar quem estava ali com aquela voz, com aquelas pausas tão bem medidas, com aquela melodia. Aquela melodia.
Encantador "GODDY GOD (was a motha fucka)", segundo EP desta belguinha. Campo jazz, entoado com alma, os minutos das seis músicas passaram por mim flutuando. Fiquem com dois vídeos, ao vivo, e com o link para a paz, em forma de melodia. Aí em cima. Merece play...
Encantadora. Este sonho de Casssandre. Com três s's.
